Learning Content

Do I require prior knowledge of BIM to complete the courses?

No, absolutely not. Our courses are designed to give everybody, no matter of their starting position, the knowledge and confidence they need. Whether that’s to implement an information management process or to simply undertake your role within it.

Do I need access to the ISO 19650 series to complete the courses?

No. Whilst it may aid your learning if you do, you do not need access to the ISO standards to undertake the courses.

Do you provide a copy of the ISO standards as part of the licence?

No. We are prohibited from providing copies of the standards, and it would make the price of an Operam Academy licence very expensive. If you really want a copy of the standards, you can buy them from ISO or your national standards body.

Can we add our own content to the platform?

If you have an ACADEMY licence, you can add your own content to the Operam Academy Platform at no extra cost. You can add a variety for formats including SCORM compliant eLearning modules, video/audio files, or documents.

Can you develop bespoke content for us?

Absolutely. Our in-house development team, consisting of instructional and multimedia designers and content developers are here to support you every step of the way. We can work with you to develop engaging content that meets your bespoke learning needs.

How long does each course take to complete?

We’ve structured our BIM courses into bite-sized lessons of around 10-15 minutes each. Each course has four or five lessons, plus a course assessment. Therefore, on average, each course takes approximately 60-75 minutes to complete. Ultimately, it depends on how much time you take on the in-lesson activities. For detailed information, take a look at the ISO 19650 curriculum.

Can I access the courses from any type of device?

Absolutely, it’s a cloud-based solution, so you can access the platform via any device with a web browser. If you’re using a mobile device, you also have the option of using our mobile app.

Will I have to start the course from the beginning if I switch to another device?

No, your progress will be automatically saved, and you can resume from where you left off from another device, including our mobile app. Even if you learn offline, the mobile app will synchronise once you’re back online.

Should I tell everyone how amazing Operam Academy is?

OK, clearly we’re not suggesting this is a frequently asked question, but we’d like to think that the thought may cross your mind once you’ve tried our courses. In which case, the answer is definitely yes.

Licences, Pricing and Payment

What features does each licence come with?

All our licences come with access to all Operam Academy’s current and future learning content. You can find out what features each licence comes with on our licence comparison page.

Do you offer multi-year licences?

Yes. Customers purchasing an ACADEMY licence have the option to buy a three-year licence and receive exclusive multi-year discounts.

What payment options are available?

INDIVIDUAL and TEAM licences can be purchased online using a credit card. ACADEMY licences can only be purchased via bank transfer (BACS).

What if I don’t have a credit card?

If you’d rather pay for your INDIVIDUAL or TEAM licence by bank transfer (BACS), simply request a new customer form, and we issue you an invoice for payment.

What’s the difference between a licence and a learning passport?

An Operam Academy licence is what you purchase and gives you the right to access the learning platform and learning content. Each licence comes with one or more learning passports. For example, an INDIVIDUAL licence comes with one learning passport. A TEAM 25 licence comes with 25 learning passports – this means you can give access to up to 25 people in your team.

Can I add learning passports to my licence?

Yes. The price for each additional learning passport depends on the unit price you paid when you purchased the licence. For more information, please contact our Accounts Team

Can I transfer a learning passport to someone else?

No. Once a learning passport has been assigned to an individual, it cannot be transferred during the licence term. A bit like a real passport, the learning passport retains the learning history of the learner along with their assessment results and awards. The only exception to this would be if a learning passport has been allocated, but the learner has never logged in to the platform. Alternatively, if you have a TEAM or ACADEMY licence, then at the point of renewal, you have the opportunity to reassign learning passports to other leaners.

What do I get with a TRIAL licence?

The TRIAL licence gives you access to the Operam Academy platform and a selection of courses for you to try.

What if I need more than seven days to try the platform?

A TRIAL licence lasts for seven days from the day of registration. If you need longer, simply contact our Support Team to request additional time.

Certification

What certification do you offer?

Upon completion of each course, you will earn a certificate from the Continued Professional Development (CPD) Service. Also, upon completion of the ISO 19650 curriculum or IM Bootcamp, you will earn a digital badge. Please note, there is no internationally recognised individual certification scheme for ISO 19650. For more information, visit the certification page.

Where can I find CPD certificates?

You can download and print CPD certificates by accessing the ‘Certificates’ tab of the ‘My Account’ section within the online platform. If you need assistance, please contact our Support Team.

What is a digital badge?

Digital badges are web-enabled versions of a credential which can be verified online in real-time.

How does my credential get displayed as a badge?

We have partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed through Credly’s Certification platform. The technology Credly uses on its Certification Platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

What are the benefits of a digital badge?

Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real-time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of.

How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?

You will receive an email notification from the Credly Platform (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

What if I don’t want my badge to be public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Credly Platform. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a fee to use Credly’s Platform?

No. This is a service we provide to you at no cost.

Where and how can I share my badge through Credly’s Platform?

You can share your badge directly from the Credly platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website or in your email signature.

Who else uses Credly to issue digital credentials?

Credly is also used by professional bodies such as Engineers Australia and Institute of Asset Management, plus leading software vendors such as Autodesk, Bentley, Microsoft and Oracle etc. Combining your Operam Academy badges with other badges will demonstrate the broad range of skills you’ve acquired.

What happens to my badge once my Operam Academy licence expires?

Your digital badge is provided by Credly and hosted on the Credly platform. You do not have to have an Operam Academy licence to keep using your badge.

I have a question about the Credly platform. Where can I find support?
